Hi Cheetah Enthusiasts,

It has been a long time since I have written a letter to go up on our family’s website. Over the last 5 years we have been very busy defending our family’s name, our Father’s reputation, Cheetah brand, our family’s Intellectual Property, and against a false damage claim that approached a million dollars with fees and costs. You can see that this has been a very serious matter, delaying our family’s future plans for the Cheetah. The Federal court’s ruling rightfully gave us a total and complete victory in the outcome of the trial. (See the ruling here).

Our family has been blessed with victory on every legal matter that has been contested. The USPTO (United States Patent & Trademark Office) has recognized our Intellectual Property ownership with a registered trade mark for "Bill Thomas Cheetah", "Bill Thomas Motors", and "Cheetahs Always Win". Our family also has the Rights of Publicity for all of Dad’s automotive and racing history. There is more work to be done finishing with the USPTO and proceeding to registered trademarks for Bill Thomas Race Cars and BTM shield. Also building a case to stop the pirate that is using our I/P illegally and hopefully recoup what it has cost us.

Moving onto even better news, Sam Goins is taking his Fabulous original Cheetah to a single item only auction at New York’s Central Park on May 10th. This is the Cheetah that is mostly all original and complete. It looks as if it came out of a time capsule despite having an extensive racing history. Sam’s Cheetah is by far the best example of an original Cheetah that has gone up for auction. The story about this amazing racing Cheetah is one of the best stories about any 54 year old race car. The fact that this Cheetah survived over 50 years without being modified and being so close to how it rolled out of my Dad’s shop is incredible!

Sam has been such a good care taker (and must be a very good driver) to preserve this Cheetah in such amazing condition. Sam I hope you find a new owner that will be as good as you were in caring for this very rare Cheetah!

All the best,

Bill Thomas III

“I can't say enough good things about the Thomas family and their dedication. When my husband passed away and left his unfinished Cheetah, I was at a loss as to what to do. They took the bull by the horns and helped me sell it. Their kindness and helpfulness was second to none and I don't know what I would have done without their knowledge and insight. They are truly amazing!” - Donna G., FL
